Tutus
Always allow tutus to air dry after performances, before storing.
To maintain the tutus shape, always store flat and keep dust free. Do not store in the waterproof bags that can be bought for transporting tutus. The storage bag should be made from a breathable fabric and should be large enough that the edges of the skirt can lie flat and don’t crimped up. Specialist tutu hangers can be sourced, but are not suitable for the very small tutus. Never hang a tutu by the elastic shoulder straps as this will cause them to stretch and distort.
Ballet Skirts
Ballet skirts, by design, are lightweight and floaty and the fabrics that are used to create this aesthetic are very delicate. As such ballet skirts should always be handled and washed with care.
